Default brushed my exhaust up today...

the whole muffler was black looking, up to the tip... so i brushed most of it off today, big improvement..





you can still see some of the black stuff on the top of the tip, couldn't really get to that but everything else is nice and shinny lookin..

You can do a couple things. There is a somewhat abrasive chrome/metal polisher and cleaner that works pretty good (too bad I forgot the name). Also simple green will disolve the carbon build up and just use a SOS pad or some steel wool to clean it up if the simple green won't get it.

IMO a metal brush seems a little harsh, I would try a less abrasive route first.

i tried a metal brush, but it wasn't workng, then i tried brillo pad -negative. then i got the drill with a brush on it. worked heh, but it couldn't get to some areas b/c of its size... i'm very happy with the results even though it's still pitch black in some areas...


ps. this 5 posts a day thing fukin blows.

i use sand paper, i get it all shinny just to paint them in flat black

actually stock is the look i was going for, so no complaints here my man. too bad you don't know how shltty it looked before.
