SCCA announced they would put an end to Prorally events. Citing deaths and increased risk as their reasoning.
Sad to see such an exciting motorsport event be removed in the states

Rumor has it that Rally America has already picked it up. Unfortunately, I can't verify that rumor using a Google search of "Rally America".

its in the works, but the future is def in question

 

there are talks of a few different directions performacne rally may go in the U.S. but be sure that the end of the SCCA series is nto teh end of rally for the U.S.

 

I hope things work out. I went to SnoDrift '03. I had a blast watching it, got some sweet video footage too.

 

I saw a release that Rally america had picked up the series.

Through the drama i never heard news of sno-drift being cancelled so i knew someone was goign to pick it up

yeah, LSPR is a little too far for me.

 

many fans and drivers in clubrally and prorally will tell you that SCCA getting out of rallying is a good thing. A very, very good thing.

Only if you really think that the new organizing party will be any better.

I'm not a fan of the people in charge at SCCA or most of their decisions, but i don't think that things will be any "better" with new organizers.

yeah, I'm gonna site SnoDrift '03 when an imported STi backed into a tree at 40mph after coming over a hill and missing the 90* right. That spot was the worst, all but 3 people missed the turn hardcore, especially the prorally guys coming over that hill almost airborne...

 

Rally hasn't gone anywhere.. As you said NASA is still doing their rally events and more than likely they will pick up quite a few more as a result. I know I'm now out to get my NASA license and I'm trading in my scca license for Rally America as soon as they get organized and settled. It has yet to be decided how Rally America will present themselves.. whether as a sanctioning body or as a group with general guidelines for event organizers. Either way, the 05 calendar of SCCA events will remain either unharmed or minorly modified. I'm excited to see some of SCCA's ridiculous regions and regulations change. Thanks to all who are concerned with the sport! Lift your car a few inches, put on some Azenis rs-01d and go get dirty sometime.. Its fun I promise.
