Default LS/Vtec Mains

Alright, just trying to clarify some information that I have heard. Looking into doing an LS/Vtec setup LS block, GSR crank, Type R pistons and Rods. Now my question is this. In order to use the GSR gurddle do I need to do anything special to the main caps if I use the GSR caps? second question.. Do the GSR mains work with the GSR gurddle and GSR crank and LS block?

I've used the search feature to no avail...

Thanks,
Scott

you have to use the GSR mains and oil pick up, and have your block line honed...

Well, first and foremost, if you use GSR mains on an LS block, you will need to have the block align bored. This is not an option, you MUST do it. Second, if you use the GSR mains, then you will need to use a GSR oil pickup, GSR center 3 main studs, GSR baffle pan and a GSR oil pan. Other than that, it is pretty straight forward.

Another suggestion is to use our main girdle. It uses the LS mains and turns it into a GSR type main system. You can order it with everything you need. Check it out here, it could save you some $$$ :

Hope this helps

As long as the block was align bored with the mains you will be using, it's o.k. The rest is up to you to get all the correct parts to make it work. Remember, LS oil pans will not work with GSR mains and GSR oil pickup. You have to get all GSR parts for the lower end. Once you do that, your set

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I'm going to have to find a machine shop in this area that can do this work.
