Default Lakewood traction bars

Has anyone used the Lakewood traction bars? I have searched and these have never been brought up. Here is the link.
http://store.summitracing.com/...n+bar

The price is nice and free shipping with summit. Let me know what you all think.

I am actually more concerned about the quality. I would pay a little more if I knew this one wasn't any good.

lakewood actually has engineers not someone who is guessing at what will work . They have never had quality problems.

I don't understand how Jimfab could be better. Nothing against Jimfab, but his are probably not engineered as extensively as the Lakewood enginnering. I mean Jimfab is at the high end of a homemade product. On the other hand, obviously they work because so many people say so.

jimfab does r&d before he releases anything, actual on track racing conditions testing

you might want to find out more specific info like

geometry, do the bars bind?
what they are made out of, MIG welded, what grade Al. ?
what type of radius rods they use?
if they have been track proven/tested
strength of design, and what it takes for them to break.

I have a local tuner shop making these bars and he is wanting to sell me one for $250. I think I am going to talk him down on the ground that I can get a professional bar for $280 with free shipping!

ETD Racing makes their own Traction Bar kits. They use them on their 10 second All-Motor CRX (1.4 60fts) and I will be using their kit on my 92-95 Civic in 2005.

Here is a link to the kits http://www.etdracing.com/perfparts/perf13.html

I think he is willing to sell them for $240US

Give John a call @ 905-953-9260 or email @ john@etdracing.com

Damn there are so many traction bar systems out there. Lakewood, ETD, L-CON, Full-Race, and JimFab. And people seem to have good things to say about all of them. So which one is really the best bang for the buck?

Their is also Competition Engineering, Z10 and Darkstar racing. Their are so many producers because the product is so easy to make.

but not easy to make correctly.

any if you buy from summit, you get zero tech support or if you have any questions after you have them installed.

Im pretty sure Avid and Enjo are making them too. If i remember correctly too, Exospeed is going to make there own. How can they all be different? Is there any copycats out there?

this is another case of people willing to pay more for a "superior" product, when all they're doing is keeping the market prices up.

I have a set of those "ebay traction bars" from seller vtecnician.. they are awesome and you simply cannot beat them for the price. adjustable radius rods for caster, and a nice solid construction. I have no complaints whatsoever and got them for $200 shipped.

True story about those traction bars...

2 years ago, i was at a big indoor car show in cleveland...my buddy and i met a guy named "honda dave" guy seemed to know more than enough about hondas, so we got real close with this guy...now we come to learn that this guy designed the traction bars, and has a patent for them...he gets a check in the mail every week from lakewood because he sold them the patent...They are high quality, and ever better...how ever many years ago they were designed(prolly 5+) Dave gave my buddy the original set...and still holds good on his car, makes a huge difference!

Just thought id share!
