how many 97 ITRs were sold .......
I heard it was a promotional item done for Acura by a PR company, and that you had to fill out some form and send it in.
I'm the second owner of my car, and never got one (or any original paperwork, for that matter).
This, I pilfered from vtec.net years ago, ... it's since disappeared from their site. ed

does the VIN tells you the ITR #? I'm thinking about getting this 97 R from the dealer but the VIN says its #JH4DC2.....02987? misprint?

Here's a letter I was forwarded on ITR production numbers for the US for 97 and 98. It's a terrible scan and I can't verify it's legitimate (although it appears so), but it states 318 (97) and 1023 (98).

Hmmm......I'm not having any trouble at all.
Here's the image on a page, maybe that'll work for you.

I see as high as #479 on the ITRCA website for '97. Then 1197 for '98. There are a few 1900+ 98's but I think they are bogus. Probably just looking at their VIN number.
My former neighbor has 97 #510. He's the highest I've ever seen.
I never got a certificate either. I am the original owner as well. Yes, I did get the poster and keychain. It was for filling out the survey.
Thanks,
Victor Perri II

one out of 480 is good enough for me
i don't believe there're 100 of them in canada (most likely 80), if you look at the itrca registery, the last american listed is 377 and the first canadian that was regiester is 416. as for your former neighbor 510, could that be a 98?

I have #384.
How many type R's were sold in Canada? 80? 100?
I need to know because I'm thinking of suing some bitch that rear-ended my car for loss of collectibility. I probably have the lowest mileage Type R in Canada, 97 #384, 25600km.
Thanks.
