Default Car shakes when idle

My car is a ek and has 68,000 miles and when I make a complete stop i can feel my engine shake.

Can it be shaking because I need to cahnge my timing belt?

Also i bought my cold air from ebay , and I didnt tighten it well enough a couple of times. And 3 times it fell off for like a hour each time. Can something have gotten into the engine and messed my pistons?

Your motor mounts could be in some disarray... Check them. It shouldn't shake like that from your timing belt. What does it idle at? It could just be too low and the engine is struggling a little. It should be in the area of 500-650 rpm.
Something could have gotten in there from the absent filter, but it's most likely if something major flew in there, you'd have more problems then just a rough idle. You might check your Exhaust Gas Recirculation and Intake Air Control valves. If they're clogged, or not in proper working order, they could be the cause of your woes, also.

Yeah, the cold air i bought is a piece of junk. The O2 center didnt fit in corectly. So I had to put electical tape around it to hold it in. But when I asked the mechanic if it wasnt in correctly. He told me that if it wasnt in correctly my check engine wouldnt turn on.

And would it be easy to find out if the cold air did any damage to my car?

I forgot to add, i usually rev around 500 rpm in idle, it stays constant.

Its not much of a shake but more of a vibrate in pulses. Its nothing horribly bad, buts its not good either.

Hey I have the exact sane problem but when I hear the rattling it sounds like it is coming frmo the backseat/ trunk on the passenger side, and it only does this when I put my foot on the brake and sit there. Any ideas?

Car is a 94 Civic Coupe EX

I had the same problem (or actually still do). I bought the car three years ago with 68200 miles (bone stock). I probably drove it like that for more then 10k miles, but the summer came and I tried using the air conditioning.
I eventually found the problem when I tied filling up the AC. It was OVERFILLED!
Most people buy those cans to fill up the AC, and it's cool for a wile (like the first 68K miles). Afterwards you have to take it to a shop and they create a vacuum in your AC system and fill it up right.

I don't know if every one has the same problem, but go to a local store and buy one of those $5 AC pressure gages and check it out. I bet that'll be it.

I would assume that you're talking about the air temp. sensor, and he's right, it probably wouldn't set off a CEL. Are you getting any codes?
I don't think there's an easy way to find out, but I wouldn't worry too much, unless you have no front bumper or your splash guards from underneath were removed.

I would say it's merely something loose, or a grommet or gasket is worn or missing. It could be that your trunk lid is a little out of alignment.

If i take my car to any mechanic, would they be able to tell me if the cold air did any damage to the car.

And if the O2 sencer was in incorrectly can it have damaged my engine.

02 sensor is located on your exhaust. its probably your intake temp sensor.. and if it wasnt working properly your check engine light woudl be on

Check your Air Conditioning (if you have one).

It's not the intake. I had this problem with a stock intake, witha a short-arm K&N and with an Arospeed Cool air. On my car it turned out to be an overfilled A/C.

Well now that we have that all covered up, I have another question. Does anyone have a list of what the fuses are mine doesn't have a sticker, I think I may have blown the fuse for the radio and for the clock.
