Default Black smoke

I did some reasearch, but dont understand how to remedy it. My bros 95 v6 camary is spewing black smoke on start up and sometimes on acceleration. Possible running to rich is what all research points to. Can i change the pvc valve? How do i lean it out?

black = fuel

Car could just need a good tune up... Air filter, spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap & rotor.. check to see if the ECU is throwing codes, try resetting the ECU...
