Default Havent posted some projects in awhile...

Dual 40mm wastegate, t4 Excaliber. Customer in the Netherlands.

Yamaha RX1 Snowmobile, partial turbo kit. We have a customer looking for 400hp or so, will be racing the 04-05 season. Another sled with close to 400hp went 500ft in 4 seconds Flat, at 127mph. Grass Drag, and sand-bagging to stay in a lower class.

This manifold/DP is heavily, heavily heat-wrapped, so there is no point in buffing them up.
Thats all for now, there will be some S2k pics next weekend.

thanks, Im excited about this sled stuff, it looks to be very promising(40+ orders, and non-stop phone calls). I may have to shut down the internet orders to handle the load(Im going to wait till a few $ have arrived from the sled guys first).
We are dynoing sometime late this week. Im going to try my darndest to get a video...

Stepped headers do have benefits although I can't tell you how, haven't done enough research.

The mani's for the sled are incredible, thats the first time I've seen the finished product. I remember when you were doing the design and jig a few months ago when I was up there hleping with the sol.....all I can say is w0W

my understanding is that they help with torque and preventing reversion.

Ive read that some guys didnt want to do butt-welds because they are a little more difficult. So they purchased piping in 1/8" increments, and noticed large gains over straight diameter primaries.
The stepped primaries offer benefits in two ways:
increased torque across the entire rpm range;
and anti-reversion.
The anti-reversion helps to keep the cylinder burn "clean". It gets dirty from Exhaust pulses reversing back into the cylinder right before the exhaust valves close. The Anti-reversion suppresses this effect, yielding more power overall.
This is my take on it anyway!
I really need another new camera, these pictures dont do justice to what Im capable of in the welding arena. Its amazing what two years of 80hrs a week will do to a self-taught welder

Hey,
Really nice pictures but I have a Question..

WHat exactly, kind of metal is that? all of the specifications if you can. I want to make a turbo manifold for my car.

It acts similar to how an expansion chamber would.
Think of it like this, when you fill a bottle up w/ water and freeze it the water molecules expand and with no where to go the bottle breaks. Since it takes an enormous amount of pressure to crack or break steel (more than your average motor can create) it follows the path of least resistance which is back into the combustion chamber, as tinker said, creating a "dirty burn" by mixing the fresh oxygen/fuel with the old exhaust fumes.

Holy **** man. Exhaust right behind the headlight?

What car is that going on? As far as I'm concerned you can keep whoring your setup on here.
