Im guessing S2000s have good top end? This guy had a lowered S2000 with an intake and we raced from 70-110 MPH and were dead even! I was actually expecting to pull on him but no one pulled an inch.

 

70-120 is right in the s2k's sweet spot. good race.

Did he downshift and nail it ???
I have a friend with a 1995 Si hatchback with a Gsr motor in it, He has some minor bolt ons like intake,header and exhaust. We were driving side by side and we started to get on it alittle in thrid gear doing about 30-35 and i heard him downshift, he pulled on me for a sudden second,i went back to first gear and nailed it to 9500 and smacked second and blew past him like i was going into the future...
You have the B20 and if i am correct those things come stock with a nice amount of torque. I am sure you gave that guy in the s2k goosebumps when he just coulden't get rid of you. I'm sure if you two would have exceeded 110Mph he would have started pulling away from you, that is if he had the ***** to open his car up . I had my car up to 148Mph on open highway but cars started to get closer and closer really fast....
But good job showing that guy you had a heart

Thank You, The s2000 is truly one of the finest 2 seater convertable sports cars to own if your looking for a great handling,fast and a car that won't break your wallet like other contender do like porsche boxster ect... The S2000 is roughly 32k New and the Boxster can reach a price tag of around 50k and us guys who own S2000 will run all over the Boxster non-turbo. I myself hung with a Boxster with no problem,i think your just paying for the emblems. But i truly hope you yourself get a S2000 cause i think being you only live once you should have the chance to own such a unique vehicle.

I ran a 13.7 @ 99 MPH before the rebuild..now I should be good for 13.4-14.5 @ 100-101

 

i don't think is such thing as a turbo boxster. do you mean the NA boxster S? regardless, the new base model boxster with the 3.0l engine is a damn good match for the s2k...see last year's solo II national results. an s2k won't "run all over" one given equal drivers.

for this number, I don't think you were doing that good..!!
you have better tq, and only about 20 hps less than S2000, but, Civic has a much lighter car body than S2000...!! However, normally S2000 could downshift to 3 rd gear, will make it high rev to go peak hp, but most of S2000 owner will do 4th gear downshift.. so, go ask that S driver if he downshifted to 3rd gear or 4th gear..!? that makes a lot of different..

 

you just need to know how to drive a honda vtec, honda wasn't lying when they say you get optimal power passed a certain amount of rpms.

you just need to know how to drive and think about the same time!!!

I dusted my buddys silver S2000 in a street drag race.

To make a long story short we rolled from a 5 mPH start, punched the gas.
We are dead even.

I shift to second gear and start pulling on him,
towards the top of second gear, I was already ahead of him
going into third, I saw him in my rear-view mirror and just keep pulling.

if that was me on the freeway i woulda smoked you ...... obviously he didnt downshift to 3rd.....i always cruise around 70mph cuz in 3rd gear....its right in the sweet spot....then bone out to 88 and shift....i never race those lower grade hondas....WASTE OF TIME AND GAS....but otherwise, you did pretty well....or he did pretty bad.....by the way....fastest i ever went....145 on the 60e going to riverside....can you keep up?

LOL..dude youre a ******* tool! Why the hell would the guy race me and not downshift? He was the one egging me on..."surging" foreward trying to pick a race...so I would think he would downshift wouldnt you?

S2000 is not the fastest thing on the road, my friend can beat me in his supercharged GTI with 240hp at the wheels.
