Go with the D16Z6, it's pretty much a bolt-in affair except you may need to do the VTEC wiring.

save money for a B16a gen.II
or an LS swap is pretty good
basically any other motor then your cx motor is a big upgrade

cx motor sucks. i started with it. then i got the sohc vtec zc motor just like the d16z6 except its jdm. then i traded that one for an ls motor which i am happy with but after all that i still wana build or get an h22a so just get a cheap motor now better then the cx motor which is anything. and then save for what u really want.

EDIT: IMO...The d16z6 will be your best bet...the 92 cx is already wired for vtec....get a d16z6 WITH the engine harness and a p28 computer (92-95 ex/si) all PLUG-N-PLAY
did it to my 92 cx in a few hrs in my driveway
cost me about 500 for everything

the 92 cx is not wired for vtec so u will have to run the wires. man. and its not all that hard. u should use the sohc vtec engine harness if u have that option though. becuz u will be able to see where on the engine harness u need to run the 2 vtec wires from.
