Nice. Man, was it just a couple of 350Z's in the midst of a massive pack of Bavarian Brute?
P.S. Nice trigger work on the play-by-play crash...

Well I for one will give it to you, 3rd in SGS and on the lead lap is a fine finish. How many stints did you do and for how long?
Results for those interested are here (hopefully the cut and paste will work): http://www.grand-am.com/Events...D=408
I'd be interested in your thoughts on some of the guys in Pro Racing. I was only there for Saturday but my God, there are some horrible drivers in pro racing. Are most (at least half) of these guys just hacks with a lot of money to rent a ride with? One of them ran a fast lap of 2:30 in the ST race Saturday. That's impossibly slow. I walked away convinced that if I had the cash, I could top-half in a Grand Am race given a decent car.

about 3 350Zs in teh cup race
yah couldnt beat pobst, not with a old and busted 2000 car. : (
each driver gets 1 stint. we kep the car out on the trak as long as possible waiting for a Yellow (there was a yellow near the begining of the race so we topped the car off with fuel). i drove for a little less than a hour at the end of the race. Cory stayed out as long as possible (just like TPC) while we were waiting for a yellow flag so a driver change wouldnt hurt us to bad. the fuel light came on and then 2 laps later yellow flag came out for a car dumping oil. i got in then there was that HUGE crash. it was pretty crazy going into it at 125mph.
well jsut like in any pro racing rich old guys buy rides. the Racers Group is a prime example. and yah alot of them suck. But its the same deal witht ALMS people buy rides there too. Even in F1 some of those guys buy those rides too. So yah some of those guys stiink. and they get there doors blown off.

There are actually 5 running in the series now, but only 4 out of the 5 finished the race since Boris Said ran out of gas in the #13 car.
Nice photo action on the wreck.

also, why do y'all downshift through every gear approaching a corner? stability? on-demand power?</TD></TR></TABLE>
you can use the engine to slow the car down also. and yah you will always be int eh right gear if you need it. but mostly just using engine to slow the car down with the brakes
it was a camera for the rear veiw. yah. i saw it and was like no way. so i took a pic.

i've always been told not to use engine braking... it is harder on the motor and the brakes alone would stop the car better than a combination of the engine and brakes...

they were prob talking about using the clutch to slow the car down. What im tlkaing about is having hte clutch engaged and just letting the revs fall. the motor decelorating helps, any little bit helps. but slipping the cluch while the revs are down works also. but that wouldnt be good time after time after time of corse.
