Default Wrapping the Intake

Does anyone wrap their cold air intake with an insulator, if so, is it worth it?

I don't, but it sounds like a reasonably good idea. I'm sure it's a lot easier than wrapping the header!

I wrapped my DC short arm with an insulator. It really made no noticable difference. It might make a difference on a really hot day but up here in wisconsin it just doesn't get that hot. Only difference that was immediatly apparent was the ugly insulation making my engine compartment look ghetto. Its not worth your time or effort in my opinion.

Well, YEAH, of course it won't make a difference with a hot-air intake (short ram, whatever). The point of wrapping it would be if you have a cold-air intake, you keep the pipe from getting hot and transferring heat to the air that's being brought in from outside.

I'm not saying it'll make 3 horsepower, but what the hell- it won't hurt anything either.

the air rushing through your intake pipe is moving through there fast enough to where it wont change the air temp at all unless you have a plastic type intake pipe which even then wont effect your performance
