racing harness
I have a 89 crx dx with the seat belts on the doors. I've been thinking of ways to get rid of them and put in racing harnesses. I'm curious as to how you people did yours. Thanks for the help
Well you could put in a roll bar and attach to there or you could use a floor mount one and attach it to the floor or a rear strut bar, but I would go for a roll bar
Also I think the mounting points are still behind the plastic to put in the old seatbelts (88) you could fab up some sort of bar running behind the headrests and attach harness there also

Do NOT mount them to the floor or floor mount or anything like that.
If you ever got in an accident with the racing belts on, you will compress your spine that way.
The mounting point for the belts are supposed to be up much higher than the floor (close to directly behind the holes in the racing seat) so when you crash your belts give in a forward motion and not downwards.

holy ******* ****!@ ive seen this thread WAAAAAAY to many times!GET A FUNKIN ROLL BAR. GET 5 POINT HARNESSES. your going to get flamed!
beside that point(s).... i was lazy, and didn't dremel the top riveted part to the set belt... so i just removed the door panel, and cut the seat belt, and unbolted the whole assembly. i then put the panel back on. hence no seat belt running through that hole at the top of the panel. two weeks later i unbolted that top part from the door. ha

When i run my takatas i run them this exact same way. My takatas even came with a total of 4 eyelet bolts. 2 for the lap belts, and 2 for the shoulder belts. The angle seems to be fine. Now, if u bolt the shoulder belts to the floor directly behind the seat, then u may have a problem.

I don't understand what the question is. Are you asking how to mount the lap belt given that you have door-mounted OEM belts, or are you asking how to remove the OEM belts?
