Default energy suspension shift stabalizer

Has anyone experieniced a really tight feel on the shifter after installing them?? I have a short throw shifter and my shifter is way to tight. When I first put them in you could hardly wiggle the shifter in neutral. I am going back to all stock stuff but I was just wondering if other people liked them or not.

I have a cheap $20 short shifter off of ebay, and yes it was really tight at first. Then after a few hundred mile, i don't know if I just got more used to it or if it actually did, it loosend up. I think it is the brushings, mine came with brass but you can get polurathane ones that are suppose to make it smooth as silk. The leverage also may be causing it to be tight, or you might have tightened something to tight. I would give it a shot for a while and get used to it, if it doesn't change after like 200 miles then go back.

grease it up a bit. you shouldn't tighten the nuts all the way, just tighten until you feel the nut won't come loose on you.

The ES bushings were noticeably firmer, but not stiff at all. Very comfortable and smooth shifting. Are you using an oem shifter?

The bolt that holds the shifter to the shift linkage is way too tight..loosen it up a bit and it will be better.

I went back to my stock shifter and lubed everything up. Now the shifting is alot better. The short throw came with the car. I still have the es bushings and the shifting is perfect now. I think the pivot bolt on the shifter was a little to tigh as well. Thanks for the help.

I have the Energy Suspension shifter b00shings and a B&M Short Throw on it. DEFINITELY very hard notchy feel to it when I installed them. I did lube EVERYTHING up with the supplied grease and it was still very tight shifting.

1 week later, everything loosened up. I guess once all the grease moves to where ever it needs to move to, everything gets looser.

Now, it feels top knotch.
