I say stick with your stock motor and go with a turbo setup.

Althought I don't regularly read this site, I hear it has the most abundant info on the first gen crx's/ third gen civics: http://www.redpepperracing.com

I'm sure your questions have been asked numerous times there. Good luck.

A d16a on 7 to 9 psi is very fast. I think that is about 150 to 170 whp. As long as you stay below 9 psi you should be okay for 80000 to 90000 miles.

It would be cheaper and faster then swapping a B16 in though....that was my point...

it is my understanding that a d16 out of a usdm 86-89 integra would bolt in, but you might have to do some wiring.

no it won't. The jdn dohc or sohc zc will bolt in. Plus, they are cheap

Wouldn't be costly at all. Pick up a used 13g out of a 1g auto DSM in good condition, dirt cheap. Nab a DSM SMIC, get all the required lines and hoses, do custom piping. Doing the labor yourself, you could have that motor running 7psi for $300 or so.
