totally OT: how do I play ".aiff" files on my computer? How do I burn a cd from them that I can pla
Long story short:
I found a burned cd in my apt parking lot.
I threw it in my cdrom to find it is the new roots album.
But I have no idea how to play it.
And I'd prefer to be able to play it on my cd player in my car. (Stock)
I have copied the files and will turn the cd in at the apt office.

AIFF
Short for Audio Interchange File Format, a common format for storing and transmitting sampled sound. The format was developed by Apple Computer and is the standard audio format for Macintosh computers. It is also used by Silicon Graphics Incorporated (SGI).
AIFF files generally end with a .AIF or .IEF extension.
The AIFF format does not support data compression so AIFF files tend to be large. However, there is another format called AIFF-Compressed (AIFF-C or AIFC) that supports compression ratios as high as 6:1.

Once you get the mp3 files, you need to convert those to WAV so your cd player will read it. I use Nero (Ahead software), but there are a host of applications that can do this, even Windows Media Player (I think). Whatever software you have for your cd burner can probably do this. Just choose "create an audio cd" from the wizard and feed it the mp3 files.
