Default are these slicks still good???

i kinda tore up my slicks. they look pretty rough. i had them down to about 13-14psi. this happened over a period of about 15 runs. well heres a picture. let me know what you guys think.

A small burnout on concrete cleans those up

Thats the point. Those ball up like that because you are spinning them down the track. The rubber is rolled 1 way....if you switch the tires on the next pass it will come off on your burnout easily.

It's not like they're directional tires..

my slicks do it too. its from alot of passes with no burn outs. just do a good burn out and it will be smooth again.

Hi peiku; When you see slicks ball up like that two thing come into play here.

#1 Compound is tooooooooo soft and you are spinning.

#2 You are spinning the slicks and you need to go in sizes.

GOOD LUCK peiku.

thanks for the advice. i was thinking maybe its becus i set the psi too low. i usaully set them at 13-14 psi after the first pass. they wrinkle alittle bit.

i think #2 is the answer. i dump the clutch at 5k and go WOT rightaway. they usually stop spinning in 1st gear. any higher and they will spin all the way to redline.

i will probably upgrade to some 24.5x8x13 but that wont be till later.

just make sure you give them a good worm up time. do a 2nd gear burnout, that should work for you.
