HF brake caliper on SI knuckle
Will 88-91 crx HF front brake caliper bolt up to a SI front hub/knuckle assembly? Also are the 88-91 Crx HF front brakes smaller then Si/dx front brakes? One more question, are the 88-91 hf brakes the same size throughout the 4 years? Thanks fellows
Its for weight reduction that is why I want to know if they will work on my si knuckles. I already have si brakes and etc.........

The caliper should bolt on, but the discs are smaller on the HF (231mm) verses the Si (242mm). The HF caliper and disc must be used together.

Figuring that the 1988-1991 Civic STD uses the DX/SI caliper on the HF knuckle, I would assume that the HF caliper would bolt to the DX/SI knuckle. But as the other guy said, you will need the smaller HF rotor. Seriously, I would not recommend you do this for weight reduction. The HF brakes don't need to be big because stock HFs don't go fast. But I am going to assume you have more under your hood than a stock HF motor. Possibly MUCH more. If this is the case, I would at least stick with what you have. Or better yet, upgrade to 1990-1991 Civic EX brakes. Don't compromise safety in the name of a couple of pounds.
Woah, I feel that 9.5" (Si) brakes are already undersized. I can't imagine making them smaller. If you haven't already got your answer though, I crossrefrenced part numbers, and the Si & HX knuckles are the same. The calipers & rotors should swap right over (you will need both). You may need brake lines too though...

I agree about the HF rotors being a bit undersized. You can put together a brake kit that uses a Wilwood caliper and 2 piece (light) rotors for about $700. Not quite as cheap as HF calipers and rotors, but for $700 you get the calipers, adapters, hardware, 2 piece rotors, pads and lines, not a bad deal! Though you would have to run a 15" wheel, which maybe also add to the cost.
I suppose if you could vent the smaller rotor (and caliper!!!) well enough, it could take the abuse, but with brakes, its always nice to error on the safe side. If you've ever experienced massive brake fade at 90 mph while staring at the rear end of a NSX which is out braking you into a corner, then you know what I'm talking about. Brakes are good.
