newbie question: what are IAB's and how do you know if they are working?
Well, there is a second set of butterflies in the intake manifold. When at a certain RPM (around 5,000?), the second set opens up to allow more air into the engine. The device that controls it is a goldish looking device on the right side of the intake manifold.
To see if it's working, unplug the vacuum line connected to the goldish looking device mentioned above and see if there is a vacuum at idle. When the engine is above ~5,000 RPM's, there should be no vacuum. You could probably just leave it plugged in too and see if it opens when revved over 5,000.
