For some reason my fuel gauge isn't reading right. When it says empty it's really got a 1/4 tank left. What could be the reason?

 

what gen? because i have a 96 and mine does a same thing. i heard there was some factory recall something about how the wrong number of ohms comes through the gauge. mine never goes all the way full either, but im not sure how to fix it.

You need to change your Fuel Meter Unit... it is in the tank.

 

^^^^^or the riser in the fuel tank is broken

 

The Riser is a piece of the Fuel Meter Unit

 

that happened to me also and i opened the dash and took the niddle out and put it back in afther that it was ok i don't know if it will work for you 91 se i had before

 

It's a 95.
