Ripped off?
I payed $3,888 for my 93 Honda Accord. 148K, Also got a powertrain warranty for $1,500. I'm sure I coulda found it cheaper, but the car was financed through the dealership...they were the only place that would finance me, so is this a decent price?
wow... thats kinda high for a 93, but my bro paid kinda high too, 3500 for his, its suppose to be some kind of anniversery edition but its got no sunroof, and blah blah so on-
notin really, it's an lx...so only 125HP, like the least HP of 4th gen. it has the standards, power windows, locks, good body, clean, manual tranny. i know i paid too much, but i'm gonna keep it clean and trade it in for something nicer later on...

For the west coast I think that price is just about fair

that **** is high. i have a 92 lx that has the typical honda spots (little) engine in great order, and i'm selling it for the going price around the midwest for $2600. I would highly recommend you go with your idea of keeping it clean and selling it.

There's no way I would have spent money on a powertrain warranty, let alone $1,500. And for a combined price of $5,500, you were ripped off.
But since you already have it... be sure to read all of the paperwork that came with that and follow their instructions to a "t", else your warranty will be void. I have a friend who picked up a Ford Thunderbird Supercoupe in the early 90s, he also bought a warranty. His transmission went out and he took it in, the warrnaty was not honored because he changed his oil every 5,000 miles (I believe), which is what the owner's manual said to do. The paperwork for the warranty said that he had to change it every 3,000 miles. He had that car for a couple more years, it was a money pit.

Hmmm.....I just bought a '93 Accord EX. Its a stickshift, and has everything......i didnt think much of it at the time, but i did get a nice deal for $3k. Plus he threw in a nice sound system. its got 172K miles tho, but that shouldnt be a thing, for a Honda right?.........this is charlotte, NC so i dont know how much prices differ here.....oh and its got nice clear corners and bumpers......I love that thing more each day!

if the body is in good condition and u like your car then it was fine price. i paid 800 for my 90 but i have put 3500 into so far doing the body and a jdm motor. lol. but its all better now.
yeah, like they said is a fair price for '93 on the west... i paid $5,900 for a '96
(Lx, 4dr, pwr windows, pwr locks came with altezza taillights, a catback greddy evo 2 exhaust and eibach sportline springs lowered at least 3.5) it had about 105,000 miles on it and still blue title never been crashed in down south texas

Hey bro-
Yea you paided a little high for the car, but if it's what you wanted then be happy. Who cares what you spent if that was really what you wanted. I got my Accord for 3,500 and it's a 95' EX VTEC 5 Speed with 160,000 miles. I always only talk to the private dealers cause that's where the deals are. So my advice would be to steer away from the big corporations.

if the car is clean and the body is straight then you probably paid a fair price for a dealer price. my roomie has a 91 2dr ex fully loaded interior is dirty but i would sell it for at least 3500 with 125,000 miles on it, it runs like new and has had the timing/water pump done,as well as new clutch with 3,000 miles on it.
a well kept solid running honda is always a good buy, the warranty was probably not needed, but whatever floats your boat.
