BAD IAC? OBD1 Question
I accasionally throw a code 14 which is IAC , I have b16a OBD1 converted 91 CRX. Is the fact that i have OBD1 on my car affect this since it is first gen B16a? Does the ObD1 and up cars have different wiring or clip on the IAC? Or do you just think it has gone bad. I do notice that when i am driving, once i shift into neutral to come to a stop, my car will have a bouncing flucuating idle, while coasting into park for red light or whatever. Once i get stopped, the idle goes back to normal at like 800-900, Has this ever happened to anyone? I orriginally thought it may be a vacume leak, but it stops when the car comes to a stop?

I checked the FITV, that plastic plug is screwed in tightly. Then i took off the IAC, the screen did not look too dirty. But i cleaned it anyway. I ran the car. Idles high near 1500, when i pull the electrical plug off the IAC the idle drops down to about 900, and idles good. I am still throwing Code 14 which is IAC, any suggestions?
i have the same problem. I dont know if the wires going to it supose to carry power cause i checked mines and no power coming from the plug. What im gona do is buy a new IAC and follow the wire all the way to check if its not cut.
The weird thing is , the IAC is doing something, because when i plug , the plug back on while running, it starts to idle very strangly. When i checked to see if the plastic plug in the FITV was screwed in all the way, i noticed that wheni took off the flat metal cap on the back towards the firewall it was bone dry inside. I know that is temp sensitive and that plunger should pop open once and awhile. It looked as if there was no coolant flowing through in a while. Even though i am not throwing a code for that( dont even know if you could)That might be my problem as well, becuase if that bad boy stays closed all the time, it is letting extra air flow into the mani. and would explain my higher idle. But i am throwing a IAC code, so there definitely is something wrong there too>
Man, I JUST WANT THIS TO IDLE NICE FOR A CHANGE

Check your manual, I'm pretty sure there's a way to test and see if your iacv is bad. Not sure if it's the same ofr my car or not. I'm having the same problem though, but i've got obdII d16y8.
