Ok, so now that my car still won't start
Can anyone help me figure out how to fix it? I swapped the clutch (******* hell, so many problems) but now the car will not start. I cleaned all the grounds, and made sure there were no loose wires. Everything looks fine.
Trans is all bolted up, but I had a few left over somehow:

The ground on the top of the trans is bolted:

The ground and power leads are both in the starter:

Friction disk, I believe is on correct. I'm 99% sure I did not flip it:

But it does not start. I go to start it, and it will just click. I have had it click more than once, and only once, I dont really know what makes the difference. It does not click at all when pulled from the trans, but Im sure thats because it needs to touch the fly to complete the circuit. The throw out moves just fine, pedal has plenty of fluid.
I am thinking:
-Bad batt (wtf?)
-Bad starter (wtf?)
-Something bound up making the starter unable to turn it (I dont think the friction disk can fit on backwards , it would not bolt up like it did -- notice the bolt on the right, they all got tight like that)
I'm going to try:
-Diff battery EDIT: Tried a diff batt, no good
-Rolling the car in high gear to see if the pulleys on the motor spin EDIT: Pulley's spin fine
-Try charing the battery EDIT: Charged it up fully, still nothing
-Getting the starter tested
One thing I noticed, which I am not sure if it matters, is that I can spin the wheel just fine with the car in gear if its in the air. Shouldn't it be hard, if it is trying to spin the motor also? Have not tried holding the other wheel.
If you have made it this far, here is a vid of the clicking:

Man left over parts are never good. But anyway it sounds to me like the starter is binding on the flywheel somehow. This is gonna suck but my advise to you is to take it back apart and put it together step by step.GL

I am suuuuuper nervous about popping the clutch when it has not been started or broken in at all.

Oh and the spin the wheel thing Yea you should be able to do tha to one wheel just not both at same time. (Open diff is what makes that happen). No worrys there

Yea I figure if I can spin one the other should just go the other way. But if in gear, I shouldnt be able to spin one if the other is held.

If you just do it to start the car it won't hurt anything. Just push the clutch back in and give it gas as soon as it starts. it hurts the car if you rev high and pop the clutch (which you can't do since it isn't running) but, just coasting and popping the clutch you should be okay. Because your not burning on a unbroken in clutch and your also your not reving the engine.
Another option is to have someone bang on the starter with a metal bar and you try to start it at the same time.

i think i can help you with those loose parts. The big washer goes on the end of the extension rod it goes on the left or right hand side of that rod. One of those screws may hold the washer onto the extension rod. Now for that big plate, that goes a little to the right of the extention rod and up onto the block. That plate will require two small screws to hold it on so that may take care of two more screws.
now that little flexible metal piece i thinnk that may be where your problem lies. I think that may a plate where a ground may go. im not 100% sure. that goes on the tranny right below the upper radiator hose(where it plugs into the head obviously
). I know i prolly didnt help but as soon as i get out of class ill see if i can take some quick pics and upload the images for you.
Here is your washer and plate problem

And what i think your problem is, that mysterious flexible piece of metal

I do remeber where that washer and the large metal peice go now. However, I am still not sure on the other peice. Pictures would be a great help!

i think that big bolt might go under the flexible metal piece too. look very close, to the right of that ground or whatever. that small washer might go there.
Good luck

Car now runs! Eric came out here, and basically just reconnected the wires, and it started right up. We figure it probably just freed up some corotion or something.
BIG thanks to Peter and Eric!
