I have a UK spec '90 Accord which doesn't have a 3rd brake light. I can order one from a salvage yard in the US but can somebody tell me if it is part of the shelf?? or does it just fix on top on the shelf.

Thanks for that... I didn't want to order it and find it wouldn't fit! After market 3rd brake lights just look crap

 

Can somebody help me with this... As I mentioned before I have a 1990 UK spec Accord that doesn't have a 3rd brake light. I want to put in the OEM 3rd brake light that was standard on US spec Accords from the same year. Here's the problem... if you look at this pic through the back window of my Accord...

It looks like there is a raised part on the shelf/tray for the TBL to mount on to. can you see on my car it's just flat! also in the parts breakdown



can you see the shelf does not look flat...

So what I'm thinking is that if I order this from ebay



it's looks like it's just not gonna fit Also on this it doesn't have that other part surrounding it, the part that is the same color as the interior. I want it to look as original as possible and don't want to resort to a half *** after market job.

Could someone please please look at their 90 - 93 accord and let me know of I will need to change the entire rear shelf. I hate not having a 3rd brake light European market cars only started getting them around '96 so the 4 gen Accord missed out.

If you really want, seeing as I am going to pull mine out, I have one for you. I am customizing the whole inside of my car and I have enough break lights as is. Aftermarket wing with LED style light, so don't need mine at all. I can pull the whole rear deck. Its grayish blue in color and I can take a pic of it if you want and post it. Once I pull it, it will have all the clips for it to be a drop in install.
Mine is a 1991 Honda Accord EX 2dr, but I have found that the 2 and the 4 door accords have the same size rear deck.

Let me know as I will let it go supper cheap.

 

Thats' great when you do pull it, could you take a pic of the deck? if the TBL would just fit on top of my deck it would be so much easier. I'm thinking I'm going to need to change the whole deck but if you can take a pic and post it we'll negotiate

 

Whoa...an european is wanting usdm parts, its like people here wanting jdm parts .

Looks like you may need a new rear deck.

It's all good... I've already changed the front clear side markers to the amber side markers you guys have. Although I've noticed lots of people who customize their cars in the US prefer clear side lights

 

you got a point there.


Will take pic in the next day or two. Doing some pulling of other items right now and finishing my front suspension rebuild. Need to have some as I go pics done anyway so can show the progress of the change.
