Default Clutch sticks...new master cylinder?

My clutch was fine just like 24 hours ago, it gave resistance, pushed all the way back up when i pushed it in. Then i drove it a couple miles and i notice it was really loose and easy to push in. then i let it sit over night, now it push it in and it wont come back up, it gives no push, i cant shift without forcing it. Someone told me i might need a new clutch master cylinder...there was no clutch fluid in it, i just filled it back up...pumped it...still the same problem. i have a 93 accord lx

any suggestions?

yes, you have a leak in your hydraulic system somewhere, could be the master and/or the slave cylinder...if youre not comfortable with fixing it yourself, have it towed to a trusted mechanic (its not safe to drive it like that, if its even possible). the repair costed me right around 300 bucks

I had the same problem with my 1990 EX. It turned out to be my slave cylinder, it was absolutely spewing fluid. The slave cylinder is near the front of the engine bay to the left of the radiator. If it looks wet around that area, thats your problem. I took mine to the clutch doctors and had both my master and slave cylinders replaced, total cost was around 300-350. But thats in Oregon with no tax, so I dont know how bad that can get. Good luck.

if you need to replace clutch master cylinder, it is not a bad idea to replace slave cylinder as they both have similiar components and if one wears out, the other will wear out sooner or later.

damn $300..although im not really good with alot of mechanical work..it only took my 20 min to change the slave cylinder and it only cost me $25. Its not really hard to replace and will save you money. Master cylinder on the other hand was really hard and that took me about 2 hrs to accomplish but there was no leak near the clutch pedal but i thought it was a good idea to replace anyways. I wish they mad an aftermarket slave so that cheap plastic doesnt tear or have to worry about it at least.
