Default What gas mix ?

I have a mig welder and I'm gonna be welding exhaust, making strut bars. Maybe welding in a cage once I get better, things like that. My friend told me to use 100% argon, I was just wondering what everyone else thought.

I'm new to welding but I'm gonna have to say yes, that is what the main topic is about. If I'm wrong someone correct me.
