which shock to buy?
i have a 94 dc2 and i have gc coilovers rite now with stock shocks heh...anyway the shocks are blown and im in the process off buyin them....i was lookin at tokico blues and kyb agx....which should i go with....are the blues adjustable....and which would be a more comfortable ride...the car is pretty much slammed thanx for your help
Blues are not adjustable, and are basically just stock replacement shocks, like kyb gr2s.
I would get the AGX if you are on a budget (I have seen them all over for $310 or less), a lot of people like them for the price. They are adjustable, but they won't be warrantied if you drop your car over 1.5" with your gcs. A better option in my opinion is to get Koni Yellows, or if you don't have $500 to spend, get some Koni reds for close to $300. Koni reds are adjustable, but you have to pull them off of the car first.

Me and a bunch of other people on this board can vouch for KYB GR-2 struts. I used them with Neuspeed Race springs for over 2 years with no problems. If you plan on autocrossing or tracking your car, I'd definitely spend the extra money and get the AGX's, but if this is just a daily beater, the GR-2's are a very capable strut. Plus they are half the price of the AGX's.
the car is a daily driver mostly commuting to school and work i mean ill go to the track once in a while but not a lot....im askin about the blues bcuz i cant get them for 150 of a buddy....would they blow like a stock shock on a slammed car or would they be ok? if not ill go wit the AGX's

I would say the ranking would be like this:
stock < tokico blues < kyb gr2 < koni red < tokico illuminas/kyb agx < koni yellow
When I had tokicos they felt almost stock (I had RSR springs - only a 2" drop), so they were kinda soft and didn't feel all that great. It felt very similar to when I had Neuspeed Race on a stock shock, the shock didn't hold up well and ended up bouncy. I think the same would happen with a Tokico blue, especially with a 3 1/2 inch drop.
If you are trying to save money, you could try the GR2s, I figure they are only $30 more than the tokicos and have a better reputation. After that, the AGXs are very good and the least expensive of the shocks with an adjustment **** on the shock. Koni yellows would be the best, they can be set very firm to compensate for a big drop, and you can not only set the ride firmness, but also they have 3-5 perches to raise or lower your car slightly (although they run about $500).
