Will Honda use my oil if i take it there to be changed?
My two local Honda dealers around here both say they do not offer a synthetic oil. Thats fine. I had Kendall put in it for the past 6 months at a Goodyear Service Center. Complications arose with Goodyear and I now no longer trust anyone but Honda to work on my 2001 Prelude 5 spd. So i took my lude to Honda to have an oil change. They said they do not offer syntheitc, so i said ok and had them put in the standard 5w-10 Honda oil.
Well, I want to go back to synthetic, but this time Mobil 1 5w-10 Synthetic. short version is.
If I buy my own oil and bring it to a Honda dealer, will they change the oil with my supplied oil if I asked them to?

i see no reason why they wouldnt. But i would suggest just finding a mechanic you trust, will prolly be less expensive and complicated, or just change it yourself....it isnt hard at all.
As for going to 5w-10, why? that is going to be too thin for your prelude. I guess you could do it, but i would make sure you arent burning any oil, i am just worried you are not going to be able to protect your engine.

Yes, sorry about that. I was typing this post during work hours. I do mean 5W-30. And yes I understand how going from dyno to synth is not a good idea, but I only used dyno oil once. It's normallly synthetic, just a different brand.
Why not just do it yourself? If you have a jack, jackstand, a wrench that'll fit the oil drain bolt, that's all you need.
