Default B18C1 + CRX + some tuning = better ETs.

First time to the drag strip with the GSR... it ran a whopping 14.80s.

Got it dyno tuned. Out of three runs:
Run 1 - 7:02p
Temp - 81'
Relative Humidity - 44
R/T - .516
60' - 2.677 (launched at 4000rpms)
330 - 6.603
1/8 - 9.756@78.35mph
1000 - 12.469
1/4 - 14.764@98.13mph (HA!)

Run 2 - 7:28p
Temp - 79'
Relative Humidity - 46
R/T - .394 (jumped the gun a bit)
60' - 2.279 (launched at 1600rpms)
330 - 6.156
1/8 - 9.287@78.87mph
1000 - 11.988
1/4 - 14.276@98.47mph

Run 3 - 9:08p (why i hate drag racing sometimes... 1.5hr later to make my next run)
Temp - 77'
Relative Humidity - 48
R/T - .720
60' - 2.454
330 - 6.319
1/8 - 9.469@78.45mph
1000 - 12.181
1/4 - 14.477@98.25mph

There's a 14.00 there. I just got to get the alignment set for drag racing and learn how to launch. I'm happy with it though. the MPH makes me happy enough and it runs like a raped ape where it really matters...at the track.

sounds like you're just dumping the clutch and flooring the gas. you should be able to launch at 4000 with no problem.

what clutch do you have?
tires? & what is your front suspension?

2.2 to 2.3 is adverage.
I know your more of a auto-x guy but you should be able to hit better times than that.

easily a 14.0-13.9 car, maybe faster.
practice launching.
you can do 2.0 60ft's on street tires.

Not a whole lot of places to practice launches. HPDEs don't depend on how well you can launch.

launch at 4,give it half throttle off the line, once the rpms are high put it to the floor, then the rest of the gears 2nd through 4th are full throttle

at the track second gear is a pain, and third gear is also traction limited. i gave up once i was noticing i had to feather all thorugh 1 and 2 only to get half *** traction in third FWD sucks for drag racing

were thouse times with what transmission?

I have a J1 with no LSd and a similar setup (poor mans ITR) and im worried when i get to the strip im going to have horrible traction, pull a 2.6 60ft and a 15 second time.. Which would totally suck.

LSD make that much of a difference? I have good tires and suspention for drag racing.

find some of the lightest wheels you can and put a set of grippy drag radials and run high psi in the back tires. learn how to launch it as hard as you can without burning the tires too much. i always launch and feel the car before i check rpm, just saying you will launch at a certain rpm doesnt mean it will work. sometimes it helps to adjust the clutch close to the floor where you have acuarate leverage . it will run 13s, the key is light wheels and skill and no back bumper, removing the back bumber will shave at least 2/10s off for you.

well, 13x9s...

i'm definitely lousy at launching. decent at RT... lousy at launching. I don't like the idea of clutch slippage. One day, i'll just set the alignment straight, get some real drag slicks, and go out there to see if i can launch the car.

oh, they are sticky... just got a very stiff sidewall (they are, afterall, road race/autox tyres).

I did a minor burnout with them...just a quick 2 second spin. Clean it off, get some of the old rubber off...

and yeah, that's the same car.

are those 13x9 the Ecstas V700s (uber stiff side walls)??

If those are slicks(what they seem to apear) and not drag radials. Then those things should hook u!! Unless your just dropping the clutch at like 7K or something pretty high. I would lower the tire pressure alot more, and heat the slicks up pretty good. I had some some small MT slicks, with hardly any tread left and they hooked pretty darn good when they wanted to.
