theres a weak rattling tat-ing tick tick tick sound when i accelerate

its really weak, i have to turn off the radio in order to hear it

it doesnt sound healthy... suggestions?

 

would help if you gave the general area the sound was coming from....more details etc... any work you've done to it or have done to it will be very helpful.

I'm hearing the same sound... when accelerating.

This is on a 95 Accord, LX (non-vtec), stock except for taking out AC. The sound comes from the left side of the engine bay. The sound is kind of similar to clicking a mouse button. It happens at a frequency proportional to RPMs of the engine. It's not very loud, I have to open a driver side window and have no radio to hear it.

If it's only on acceleration, it must be due to compression. Maybe there is something stuck in the valves that they hit?

 

try checking the oil first it might be low and the parts in the engine arent getting lubricated enough on my last engine that burned four quarts of oil a week i knew that it needed oil when it started tapping and running hotter than usual. also i heard somewhere about spark knock from low test gas try filling it with high test and see if it takes car of it.

its most like one of those three....when was the last time you had a timing adjustament?

 

Valvetrain & injector & belt noise shouldn't depend on throttle.

What about a leaky exhaust manifold gasket??
