took car out to track today
whats up. today i ran my 97 LS. i didnt get such a god time for my mods: CROWER 62403 w/ valvesprings/retainers
SKUNK2 cam gears intake:+1 degree exhaust -1 degree
I/H/E
MSD ign. and Blaster 2 coil
FPR w/ fuel pressure raised to 39 psi (with vacuum)
SAFC leaned out a little bit
Car was idling like ****. it would drop really low if i opened the throttle quickly then let off. i had this problem when i first installed the came gears, but i bumper up the fuel pressure and leaned out the motor with my SAFC. also raised the idle speed a bit and the car would idle at 750 w/o any problems. I did a valvelash on friday and did the adjustments on the cam gears as well(+1 degree Intake, -1 on exhaust). timing is set to about 18 degrees. since i did this the idle's been really bad. i think i put too much fuel pressure. i need to lower it then tune it. I need to get my car on a dyno asap to get it tuned.
but anyways, at the track i ran a 15.53. before w/ only Intake/Exhasut i ran a 15.9. i was expecting to get at least a 15.3's but it didnt happen. i think the car is running way too rich. but i'll let the pro's handle my tuning.
My 0-60' was pretty decent: 2.2's
well i hope once i get my B16 tranny and PR3 pistons, and finally get the car tuned i'll be run n mid 14's. get my *** outta bracket 1 racing!

nice run. One of my buddies had this LS Freak motor. That thing was an amazing. He ran his **** at the track. gutted, and aem cold air intake and exhaust and he ran a friggin 15.3 . I was amazed, he had a count of gs-r's he took out. It was funny as hell
don't know about running lean, i have 404's, i/h/e/cat, and msd ignition, advanced to 16 and with the fuel pressure at 40 i was running like 14.5 to 15 i had to move the fuel pressure to 44 psi and got 6 hp over the entire range, also my car idles had but I would get that thing tuned because I went from 137hp to 156 hp from just cam sprockets and fuel, just adding more fuel with the fpr and not the SAFC got me that 6hp and a/f ratio of 13-13.3 over the entire range with 14 at redline 7k, the cams just liked more fuel, so i would again get it tuned
i went to englishtown over the weekend.
My vacuum is unstable. I have a vacuum gauge and it fluctuates between 15-18 (forgot the units... maybe kg-Hg) it started to flutter like this after i did the valve lash and adjusted the cam gears. before i did these adjustments it was around a constant 20 at idle.
U increased the fuel pressure to 44 psi??? was that with vacuum or without vacuum? i just fixed my idle problem today: i raised my idle speed. i also lowered the fuel pressure to 36 psi.
hey tegRS u think i should increase the fuel pressure a bit? also do u have an LS tranny or b16? if u had an LS tranny and ran 14.5's then thats pretty damn good!

i don't know about raising your fuel pressure, i would get it tuned to find the actual a/f ratio and know if your running lean or rich, also i'm running a ls tranny and the fuel pressure is at 44 with vacuum and its rich at idle but i have not done partial-throttle tunning with the safc, also the 1/4 mile was when i was full gutted after tuning, i figure now i run high 14's because i have only the back seats out and nothing else
i just raised my idle speed a bit and the idle is much better now. after the car is warmed up, the idle is at 750-800 rpms and it's not stalling out on me. my vacuum guage is somewhat contant now, less fluttering and is at about 17-18 at idle.
i just need to find a shop with a dyno to tune my car.
