ECLIPSE 8443 OWNERS LOOK HERE....AGAIN.
Okay,
Here's the deal. This is a follow up to a post I did a loooong time ago.
There is a glitch with all the 8053 and 8443 cd players sold by Eclipse. I could never prove it until they came out with the newest models.
According to the manual, in pro mode, when you save your PEQ settings, it's also supposed to save the x-over and time alignment settings as well. This means you should be able to have one PEQ slot with time alignment settings for the driver, passenger, center, etc. You could also have one slot set up for SPL only, with the mids and highs muted and only the subs playing. Lots of **** you could do.
Although none of the decks actually worked like they're supposed to. When I first got my deck, I called Eclipse and they told me it was a "translation error" converting the manual from Japanese to English, and basically told me to get bent.
When the new decks came out (I'm referring to the new one with the mic and memory stick, although I don't know the model number), the feature actually worked.
I called Eclipse back and promptly bitched. They had one of the engineers look into it, and have come up with a solution. They have an updated firmware package that can be installed on the 8443 and 8053 which will unlock the otherwise supposed to be included features.
I thought I was going to get the new deck with the mic for free, but it turns out they're just going to update my current one.
Soooo....long story short, you might want to send your deck into Eclipse and have them fix they're little **** up. Then it will work the way it's supposed to.
I have to go jerk it now. See ya.
