Default Hasport mount fitment issue..

I bought some used hasport mounts from a honda tech member a while back. They are the older style aluminum welded ones with the orange/red urethane. I have a 91 teg rear mount bracket and it appears to be resting against the rear crossmember . It looks like the rear mount does not hold the engine up high enough to properly clear it. I have seen other ef cars with mount kits and nobody has this problem. The mounts were not modified so i'm pretty stumped why it fits like this. I don't know what do do other then try the newer style billet ones??

I think you need to make a dent in the rear crossmember......see Hasports' instructions here.......http://www.hasport.com/Tech/Installs/EFB1.htm

Damn, I never heard of having to do that. Thats why I was confused because I thought they were suppose to bolt in and require no modifications. Well beside the dent in the framerail.

You also have to dent where the alternator goes.

unbolt the tranny side n timming belt side put the rear in first n then lower the motor down wit a jackstand n then bolt up the rest of the mounts .thats how i did it.try it see if it works....if that dont work get a long prybar n try to possision the motor into place.. oh yea do not bang out your crossmember!

The motor and all the mounts are all installed and done. There looks to be no clearance between the bracket and crossmember though. It seems to be tighter after the engine has been run and it settled a bit in the mounts.

yes.. even with the newer billet mount kit u have to pound the lip of the rear crossmember just a bit so u dont get that extra vibration.. i say that because i have the billet kit on my 90 hatch..
