Default $ not an issue, best B18B intake w/bolt-ons

I did search, but I need quick true answer. Of the top intakes out, (Injen, aem, J's, comptech, k&n, ARC, EVEN MUGEN if it can be modded to fit.) which gives the broadest powerband increase and 1/4 E.T. improvement on a 99 ls with 4/1 header & full exhaust+cat? Dynos and links welcomed, remember $ no problem! Thanks.

If money is not a issue then why dont you just get a b18c motor or go ls/vtec? And one intake is not gonna blow away the another in terms of performance, escpecially when your talking about a stock b18b.

True. Probably going with Injen w/bypass valve; the same type I have on the Civic, might try comptech or J's copy. There's only a couple hp difference, but I'll post gain in E.T. after 1st run.

The intakes you have listed are all know to produce decent numbers on a dyno. The MUGEN, J's, and Comptech are some of the highest dollar ones, and they produce probably some of the best numbers. I would look around for dyno numbers on these, and remember every car is different.

I'm going to have to agree with everyone else. If money is not an issue just buy an intake and then spend all of your money on something bigger like turbo.

I found dyno for the B16 J's copy by SCO, and it made 11 peak hp, but had more bottom to lower-mid range than Injen & costs 69.99 w/heat sheild, Free shipping!! Only drawback is it only comes in brite red, blu, yellow; I'll paint it carbon or black, and IS ******* LOUD! It's on http://www.dragracing.com and is nearly 1/3 the price of injen, comptech, real J's, K&N. Gr8 value!

Ice Box

1) Quiet
2) Quiet
3) No chance of hydro lock unless your an idiot. I've drivin through a foot of water with my car slammed and had no problems.
4) CAI dyno #'s and short ram throttle response.

I use to have an AEM CAI and I like the ice box a lot more.

J's sounds like a good gain but I voted Comptech because I use it myself.

^You guys are funny! I said intake, but boost is a kind of intake; the best, priciest kind. If it was my Teg not my lil bro's, I'd do what stareatsun said: GT30 dual B.B. turbo kit and not stop tuning till 300+ whp. But then it'd SMOKE my EM2 '01 civic EX 5spd coupe ( http://www.d-series.org/forums...=1594 ). I win because of skill not mods, so this intake could make it interesting.. Thanks 4 the input, I'll give you a review after install.

You must have installed it wrong, maybe the box wasn't properly closed or the lower pipe wasn't attached. That intake is quiet as hell, almost sounds stock. And plenty of people on here have vouched for that.

Yep, you got it I installed it wrong.

Maybe they redesigned it since I had it which, was a real long time ago, but the cover just snapped in place. There were no rubber gaskets nothing like stock.

It's all relative anyway. WHat's quiet to you may not be to me. Also, my car in non vtec, different mods, etc.

It stands to reason, how could it possibly sound like stock when there is no resonators? The stock resonators do a LOT for noise reduction.

I think most peopl say it sound quite because 9 out 0f 10 users probably had some sort of aftermarket intake before installing the icebox and in comparison, it's quiet to what they had.
