Default My tranny **** the bed

Last night i went down about a hour away too check out this crx i was gonna buy.But then when i was getting ready too leave i couldnt get it into gear.I would put it in gear and start it and the car would just shutter around. Then i was able too drive it...seemed fine. Then it just wouldnt go into gear again..I had too pull over and leave the car there because it would go on and off.Any idea of what it could be?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by garados &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">how's your clutch fluid level?</TD></TR></TABLE> it could even be the clutch itself, well the pressure plate, mine had little pieces broken off the back of it.

if it's not going into gear I would bet something is keeping the clutch from disengaging. If so that's alot easier and cheaper to fix than replacing the whole transmission.

Is it a stock clutch? The best way would be to drop the tranny and take a look at the clutch. If its a stock clutch it might be the pin's holding in the springs on the clutch disc. Thats what happened to my car. Or it could be the throw out bearing is there a high pitch whining noice?

Your clutch is probably toast. Do you have a pucked clutch? The same situation happened to my friends crvtec, we drove it all the way to the shop rev-matching gears and pushing from a stop because we had no clutch. Then the owner of the shop gets in the car and drives it right up the ramp!! the clutch magically worked even while broken...
