Default I have a Prelude Si 4ws, is it worth fixing up?

hello, I have an 89 honda prelude si 4ws, and I need advice, it is in good shape but the body is a little rough meaning it has dings on it. It has a dohc B20A5 motor in it and it is pretty quick. It has an automatic transmission. So far i have put adjustable coilovers in it ( lowered 1.5"), full cat back system, and a cold air intake. I am really interested in getting a 5 speed honda but this is all i can have right now, I just dont know if i should continue to work on it and fix it up nice or what. I just need advice on what i should do with it. It does have SportShift which is pretty cool but it is just not the same as having a 5speed. Please reply to my message. Please give suggestions. Thank You.

I had one of the 3rd gens on a 90 and they are a lovely motor, if it's sound structure wise and mechanically then it's worth putting the time in on the body and prepping it right and getting a good respray done. You will have a good reliable motor and something to be proud of by restoring to it's former glory, if you can do all the time consuming preparation yourself it saves a lot of cost, then get a decent bodyshop to repaint for you, well worth it IMO

I also have a Prelude Si 4WS (1988), but what i was wondering if it was possible to do a engine swapp of the magnatude of putting a K20A into it (from a RSX-type R). the motor seems to be about the same, in a manner of speaking of the size, as an H22A motor.

I think that putting a K20A in a 3rd generation prelude is a bad idea, If you want to put a Vtec in it, put a B18C1 or maybe a H22A1, but thats just my personal opinion, you may think otherwise about those motors but i do know that the H22 is an awesome motor becuase it has an estimated 200 hp. I am not familar with the K20 motors, but i do know that a prelude with an h22 will beat an RSX becuase of the weight factor, RSX's are heavier than a prelude and the preludes with H22 with the factory close-ratio trans in it is definately faster. my prelude is an automatic and i really want a 5 speed one. I think the design of the 3rd and 4th gen preludes are the best hondas ever made.

in response about the K20A motor most performance shops that i have talked with consider the K20A motor the strongest motor honda has made to date. i have aan import mag that has a rsx in it that has 500hp in it at a stage 2 kit that is pretty damn good for just a stage 2 kit.

also another reponse to ya i would not put a B18C into a prelude to begin with i would either stay with the same size of engine or go a little bigger, not go to a smaller motor like the B18C
