Default HELP NEEDED WITH MY PRELUDE

HI
Can anybody help with my problem

Ive repleced the cat on my system with a decat pipe and have broken the exhaust tempreture sensor, the dash now has a warning light on.

my local Honda dealer has said this will not affect how the car runs at all but 2 honda tuning specialists have siad that the engine will not be running at full power.

Who is right and how can i fix the problem????

thats just there to tell you if your cat is overheating like if youve been using too much artificial octane boosters and overheated the thing. Having a broken/missing sensor there shouldn't affect power as the Honda dealer technician said. The other two 'specialists' are incorrect.

and to fix it you just unplug the broken one here (grey connector)

and replace it with another one and just clip the cable back into the clips mounted in the heatshield

Do you mean replace the sensor??? as they are £100 or approx $170 and a waste of money if it provides correctional/performance gain.

I would prefer to replace the sensor and leave bulbs where they are, i will be on the lookout for a sensor at a scrappy, just one last thing once ive replaced the sensor will the light go out on its own or will the ECU need resetting?

cheers for all your help guys...

Once you replace the sensor succesfully you will need to reset the ECU to get rid of the CEL.

CEL = check engine light (warning light you refer to) Just an abbreviation to save typing it in full.

To reset the ECU and get rid of the CEL after you've replaced that sensor, just take out your clock/radio fuse, or remove the Negative lead from your battery for 10 minutes, make sure you know your radio code if it needs a code.

Talking about performance my 1st drag strip attempt saw a 0-60 time of 6.26 seconds in my 94 h22 with just cold air intake and some bilstien shocks, is that time any good and what should be my next steps in tuning the engine?

this question should be searched. all basic bolt ons are good, but think about what you want to do in the long run. turbo or N/A. header, exhaust, larger throttle body, etc. then you can move on to builing your motor... if you got the money, you can customize your ride all you want.

Turbo sound most appealing to me but i want to get all the basics down first, just seams to me parts a a bit scarce and knowing what to buy and where get it is also very difficult, but i have been going through these pages for ideas. by doing a search do you mean on this site or a search engine?
