just couldn't resist the EF world callin my name...
Well, the ef saga continues for me now. Some of you may remember me post whoring pics of my 6 million sets of rims on my last crx
, I have owned a 90 dx hatch w/b16, 88 crx si w/b16, 90 si hatch w/dohc zc, 91 crx si stock which I traded to a friend for a 94 civic ex sedan to try out something new. Well....the eg sedan's motor was basically shot and on its last leg so I started talkin to a friend that had a 88 crx HF that he wanted to sell....
Well, we worked out a deal and traded str8 across. Both cars had their own strengths and weaknesses. The worst thing on the crx is that its got a big *** dent in the rear driver 1/4 panel but its fixable and didn't cause any internal damage. This car was also originally factory white that had near mint paint on it but the previous owner's younger brother primered the whole car for some idiotic reason.....Anyways, it fell into the hands of my friend (older bro of the kid that fucked it up) and he actually took off 80% of the primer on the car, its all off cept from the door moldings down, so its kinda 2 tone right now, but no biggie as I have plans for paint and body work real soon.
Anyways, enough history. The best thing about the whole deal you ask? 96 LS motor with a b16 tranny. Its also got a bored throttle body and intake and exhaust. Its lowered a little bit on some 90-91 crx si wheels. It also has SiR front brakes. We also weighed the car and the reading was between 1900-1920lbs as it sits with the swap. My plans include to fix a few things on it and maybe do a new clutch then I'm gonna buy the SiR front end and repaint the whole car a different color.
Coming from a few b16 cars, this car is WAY more fun to drive around in, not having to wait for vtec to kick in is a wonderful thing, I love the fact that I finally have some torque!!! Thanks to the b16 tranny, this car ****** moves, I would estimate high 14s would be simple to achieve if not lower....
