Sway Bars? Effects?
2004.10.2
OK, I've already done a search on sway bars/stabilizer bars, but couldn't find any info regarding there effects on handling (found "what fits what" threads or "how-to" type threads).
My question is, what are the effects of adding sway bars? Installing sway bars in both front and rear does what during "sports" type driving? How about if a sway bar is only installed in the rear or the front? Does the car (in my case a Civic EG Coupe) produce more understeer/oversteer? How do the tires and slip angle change? Oh, and how does traction loss transition itself with sway bars, faster/slower (traction loss as in a slide... is the tire breakaway point *grip* more sudden/less sudden)?
I realize this may depend on the type of sway bars used, so my Civic EG Coupe is a DX model that doesn't have any. I was thinking of adding OEM LS/GSR bars (I already have the control arms installed from an Integra on front and rear) or just picking up a set of aftermarket bars.
Thanks!

Thanks, I just checked out the article from Team Integra, very helpful. Seems like in Honda FWD chassis the sway bars are big part of handling (helping to control understeer/oversteer and roll).
Just what I was looking for in regards to my post. Appreciate it a lot, and Thanks!
