Already searched HEADER INSTALL
search did not turn up specifics....
i have a ss dc header that im going to put in. im having the collector mod done, along with 2.5" piping all the way back. the plan right now is too put the header on myself with the help of a friend, then drop out the rest of the stock exhaust and drive it to the shop where the rest of the pipe with be placed on and welded up.
what i need to know...
what tools will i need around to accomplish this
what process do i need to take (what to remove first to last)
anyone know of a resource online that covers this for GEN4 prelude
Also, will it be safe to drive my car to the shop with just an open header ( the collector mod will be done previously to header install and the o2 should be back in place before i drive it.
thanks for all your help guys
PS - will a new 2.5" (6" flex section) flex pipe be optimal? Do i need longer?

ihink all you need is a 10mm socket and wrench, or maybe its 12mm, well get both and a can of wd-40 or pb blaster and you should be set. and why cant you have the muffler shop take of your stock exhaust?
i dont think i can have the muffler shop take off my stock exhaust because...
im going to put the header on with the collector mod and am not sure how easy it will bolt back up to my stock exhaust...
if it wont... will it be ok to drive to the shop with open header??? im assuming it would be but am asking others opinions.
the shop is only about 4-5 miles down the road...
i assume this will be load as all hell and hope to not get pulled over
once again... is there any damage that can come to the car driving it open header????
thanks

It will not cause problems, just be a huge headache... If you DO get pulled over, just tell the cop you are on your way to a muffler shop to get it fixed, and tell him to follow you there if he doesn't believe you....
Power tools will make the whole deal so much easier, but if not, just get a breaker bar and some extensions. Might keep a torch handy too.

how about the flex piece... will a 6" long section be long enough???
i think i noticed the stock flex piece was much longer than that
