Default R*SR Ex mag vs GReddy EVO2

hey guys im trying to decide with exhaust to go with, i heard tons of good things about R*SR ex mag, but only thing is, if im not mistaken its not all stainless steel. My friend has greddy evo on his rsx and it sounds nice, idles pretty quiet, doesnt sound loud really untill you punch it. But overall im looking for a nice stainless steel system (shitty weather round here, snow, rain, slush, blahh ), that sounds reasonable.. thanks guys!

You're right about the R*SR not being all stainless steel. The Evo2 is, but it's considerably louder than the Ex-Mag. If you're looking for something quiet that's stainless steel, look into the Apex'i World Sport.

Taken from the RS*R website

"Sleek in design, this exhaust systems jet-black coating hides the SUS409 stainless steel muffler and piping"

the RS*R is actually full stainless steel. its painted black for a more "sleek" appearance. however, it is made of a different type of stainless steel than the Apexi World Sport (RS*R Exmag is 409, whereas the WS is 304). both are chambered exhausts, so are quiet, but don't flow as well as an exhaust that has a straight through design, like the evo2. if you only have a mild set up (a few bolt ons), a chambered exhaust will work just fine, its simply comes down to a matter of preference.

wow the ex mag sounds beautiful lol

Now just for some advice, this exaust would go good with what kind of set up? as of right now, the b18c is stock, intake has been ordered..not sure how much motor work will be done, because im still contemplating n/a to boost. ( i know the ex mag wont go good with FI, but i would sell it ), but overall this exaust is better than the evo2 for your basic I/H/E setup?

oh P.S. what are the difference in gains between the greddy and rsr?

i have just basic bolt ons and am getting the exmag.. gains wont be higher than a straight through design since the exmag is chambered.. but we are only talking a couple hp. a lot of people say the b18c needs to breathe.. but ive talked to gsr owners with the exmag and they are all happy.

the only difference in gains won't be seen until the engine is modded more heavily like higher compression engine or turbo setup(this is referring to the Evo2). on N/A setup the gains are very close to each other. as a former greddy evo owner and now a RS*R exmag owner, without a doubt the exmag is hands down my perference for the daily driver. for boost the EVO2 would be a good choice due to it's bigger piping and straight through design.

take some time to read what RS*R says about the exmag at their site http://www.rs-r.com
The exmag is no longer a chambered exhaust, for the integra's it is a twin loop design. I own the exmag, and i love it. It is a full stainless steel construction, coated, and is 2.36" diameter all the way, no bottlenecks. Its sound is comparable to the apex'i world sport, just a little louder than stock. The greddy sounds ok in my opinion, but i've heard too many on cars with headers and high flow cats that sound all bumble-bee-ricey. I do think the Greddy looks good. But i prefer the exmag. I made a soundclip of mine, but i don't have it online. The soundclip was taken about three feet from the muffler it self, so it sounds louder than it does in person. If anyone wants to hear it, drop me a line on AIM at Sevin8nin and we can see if i can send it over.

My Vote's with the RS*R, twin loop all the way

If your looking for an exhaust that has a stock like appearance and a straight through design, you may want to consider the Tanabe Hyper Medallion or the Greddy SP2 exhausts. They both are constructed from stainless, have 2.36" (60mm) piping, and more than likely cheaper than the ExMag or EVO2.

But like mentioned before it all depends on your goals, if your sticking to just intake, header, cat, and exhaust then any exhaust would be fine.

Please clarify where you found the information that the ExMag for the Integra is a twin loop design? I'm looking at the site, and it saids their exhausts are straight though, loop, or chambered.
