injen cai or aem cai or comptech icebox....
Im tryin to decide too which one. When im ready with funds im gonna try to get the injen. If you have ANY worries about hydrolock though just get the comptech. Try searching too, ive seen this exact topic in this forum a couple times already. Those might have more responses then you might get here.
While I beleive the AEM does provide the most HP, it's only a slight advantage. For me, the Comptech Icebox won for a couple reasons. (1)The risk of hydrolock is very small. (2) Installation is far easier that either the Injen or AEM piece.
I just installed the icebox yesterday and I love the sound, as its deeper and has a slight growl to it. The VTEC crossover is also more prounced.
I also found the resonance that occured with the stock intake at 7-redline is now gone. a major plus as it was quite annoying.

I love my AEM one. I bought it used though for just over $100 so that make it a lot more worth the money. The sound when you hit over 4K it just wonderfull. I love having it.
from what I have heard they all net you about the same HP. So it is pretty much just brand preference. I am planning on picking up an injen cai soon.

so the comptech protects you from water the best, but is at a loss when it comes to how it sounds...thats understood...
but how do the three compare as far as power is concerned? I know it may sound dumb but which offers the most power potential...
what would you say is the total package...? I've spoken with a few people and they rave about AEM, so i dont know.

Injen or AEM might make 1-3 whp more than the Comptech, however you have to relocate the windshield washer resorvoir with the aem, Best overall would be a tie between Injen(sound and power) and Comptech super safe from water with a better fit and finish.
I wouldn't call the comptech Icebox oem-like fit and finish, but it is pretty good for a $250 aftermarket part.
If the Icebox is easy installation, I'd hate to see what a PITA it is to install the Injen or AEM.
The icebox does nice deeper--like stock, but deeper with a growl. Definitely worth the few HP loss over a true CAI if the car is your daily driver.

That should give you an idea.
I'm going with Injen.

I have the same thoughts about the fitment. I like it, but I thought it would fit a little better.

i just installed my injen cai yesterday and here are my thoughts:
when i step it up to 5500k rev limit, i can feel my engine shaking my car (is that normal?)
i feel like it's hauling *** below vtec, but after that it growls like a bear, maybe it's expected that we all lose low end torque?
I don't know if the aem bypass fits our injen setup, but take a look at the k&n drycharger, it's just a glove thing that fits over the filter. It's great in winter times since you won't be speeding in the snow and ice anyways... or will you lol

me personally, i am gonna go back to a modified stock airbox for the winter. ill go back to the CAI during the dryer seasons. btw im running an injen CAI, its cool, i like the power at higher rpms, but my throttle response is kinda laggy at the get go.
