Default Del Sol jdm TRANSTOP INSTALLATION...

I've searched and heard that there hasn't never been any successful installation on one of these on a USDM del sol. would any body be interested in getting their jdm transtop installed if i knew a place that can do it in southern california?

The transtop weighs a whole lot and personally would not put one in. Good luck if you do it though.

How much does Transtop weigh? Everyone think Transtop weighs a lot. At most, Transtop weighs maybe 45-50 pounds. If you want to lighten your Del Sol of course this is not for you, but Transtop isn't as heavy as everyone thinks it is.

I believe it mounts on top of the mechanism and raises up, rather than being hinged.

You're right . To open the trunk and put something in, you insert the key into the key cylinder, turn the key to the right, and hold. The trunk will lift up. To close just turn the key to the left and hold. It will lower back into place and lock itself.

happy weight and shitty quality to you!!!!

They weighted 200lbs more, and broke all the time. They were not loved in the UK and Japan, and defently not in the US. To actually do it, you pretty much have to buy an entire non front clip (firewall back) and somehow get it to work. NOt worth it IMO.
