Hey, i own a 99 integra ls, with 65000 kms on it 5 spd,, and i got this weird rattle only at 1500 rpm. It sounds like its coming from the bottom of the car, maybe something in the exhaust piping, but the car has been doing it since when i got it stock, its annoying noice that sounds like some little thin peace of metal is hitting something. Any suggestions? Anyone has had this before?

I have a 2001 GSR now and I used to have a 95 LS and I used to get the very same rattle that you are experiencing. Definitely something in the exhaust, possibly heat shield. Could never find the problem when i did look for what was rattling.

 

try searching on this subject... there are tons of threads about exhaust rattles (heat shields, pebbles, lose bolts), rotor shields, flywheel, etc....

 

Don't forget to check you cat either... mine did that when it was falling apart / missing.

 

it aint catalyst, cause ive taken it off and then put it back... still rattled without it

So i shouldnt be worried about that? nothing serious? or does it affect something badly? except for my ears ^o)

 

nothing to worry about as for your car.

 

mine dose the same thing at about 4k... on mine the area around the bolts that holt the heat shield to the top of the cat rusted through. so now the cat rattles. I am just about ready to cut it off! saws all... cutting wheel... C4... what ever it takes!!!
