Found out the max milage on my integra per tank.
So about 1 week and a half maybe two. i decided to top it off and see how far i could go. i ended up with 331. my car died and i was able to limp it to the gas station..
also this isnt with ***** footing around. normal day to day driving. btw its in an rs with intake header and exhaust. nothing fancy.

umm if u were gonna do this why didnt u buy an extra gallon and store it in ur car so when ur out u can just put some more in and not "limp" to the gas station
Is running out of gas bad for you car? Maybe a lil off topic but i always make sure to refill before my light comes on if i can because i thought it wasn that good for the car.

it's not that bad, mabye a little bad for the fuel pump, but I ran out of gas at least 30 times in my old 89 integra because the gas gauge was broken for a couple of years and it never caused any problems.

you have a low indicator light for your gas tank? is that on a newer model cause i have a 95 gsr and there are no such light. anyways i get about 320 miles per tank but only requiring 10 gallons to fill it up all the way each time. so 32 mpg.

there are a number of things you can do to help out your gas mileage, if you read up on them, you could definitely milk more miles into a full tank. i've heard stories of people getting 400 miles per tank, although the most i've personally done is around 360

Ok how come my Integra Sedan's fuel capacity is 14.42 gallons, but I have never put more than 11 gallons in my tank?? Does this mean everytime my "e" light is on, its all BS and I really have 3 more gallons to go???
To the original poster FunkDaddyFresh, how long did you drive after your E light came on? I am very interested in seeing how much longer I can drive

My personal record is 407 miles on... hang on lemme check my MPG spreadsheet
.... 11.5 gallons, 35.2 MPG, and that's just day to day commuting, plus a little driving on the weekend (I filled up on Sunday morning).

yes, the 'reserve gas' for your car is about 3 gallons worth

Unless you think you can get at least 30 mpg for the rest of that 80 miles, I wouldn't risk it. Running out of gas is bad for your fuel system. If you really want to try it, carry around a spare container of gas just in case, and change your fuel filter afterwards. Probably wouldn't hurt to dump in some fuel system cleaner the next time you fill up, too.
