Good Q for ITR owners...
The R is designed as an autocross car and there are currently a lot of cars on the market that are equally as good if not better for autocross. Not to speak for R owners that are selling there R's....just an observation.
I don't necessarily agree completely .. the R was designed as a 'Track' car where it can let it's legs loose and keep it up in high rpms, with medium to long corners. Tight corners still hurt the R a little (a la autox courses) so many underpowered rear drive cars can hang (ex. Miata).
I think a lot of people get tired of the R and the roughness you have to endure for that extra performance (ideally it would be a weekend car - I'm sure most people would agree if they had the money to buy a fast daily driver), but that's why it's not for everybody

A type R stands for type RACE!
Not TRACK RACE, not AUTO-X RACE, not DRAG RACE, not RALLY RACE!
JUST RACE!!!!!!!!
Any form of RACE is what the type R was made for. I have pictures and results from type R's around the world racing in almost every form possible that the car could race in.
Damn, I hate it when people just say the type R is made for one type of racing. Yeah it maybe better suited and place better in certain forms of racing, however the type R is a race built car. It has all the qualites and preperations to race in various forms of racing.
