i just installed a new starter now when i run the car it won't rev pass 4000 rpm. the exhaust will make popping noises. does anyone know the problem??

 

what car do you have and year? It's possible that it could be a bad ecu

can it be a bad dizzy? how can i tell if its bad or not? i unplug one of the spark plug wires going into the dizzy when i was working on the starter. what's the correct order to plug in the wires in the dizzy? maybe that's why?

 

could be, however if you only took one wire off when working on the starter you'll only be able to put it back on in the same place and order as before and you said that the car worked fine before that. Grab a manual or take a look at another B-series motor if you want to check the wiring order. Other than that find someone with the same ecu and swap it to see if that makes a difference if everything else checked out before that.

 

How could it be the plug wire order - you said you only unplugged 1 wire which means the other 3 are still in the correct spots.

Did you remove any ground wires?

 

i only remove the ground on the starter and battery and i plug both back in correctly. can it be a bad dizzy?
