launching and tire pressure(azenis)!!
I got a set of falken azenis' awhile back and have been experimenting with launching techniques. I cannot break a 2.20 60' no matter what i do! i was just curious if there was a sertain tire pressure possible lower than 22psi that would yield better times. the car makes under 190whp with the zex and i cant spray off the line due to tire spin. any help would be greatly appreciated!
Def. go lower then 22lbs. Try 18-20lbs. People have been able to pull 2.0 60fts with azenis. Try warming them up not where its wet for full blown slicks but next to it where its dry, and just give it a spin not a crazy burn out. Better luck next time out at the track.
what about that recent post where it was basically concluded that whatever the tires ask for is best for street tires as for psi is concerned, because of the strong sidewalls. u know that V or /\ thing?

I've been able to cut 2.0s with Azenies at about 20-22psi. What you need to do is drive completley around the water and do a couple of dry launches. I might add they hook alot better the closer they are to bald. Also if you like drag racing never buy azenies again.......lol

i can cut a concistent 2.1 60' time with my 14" azenis, with the airpressure from 32-18psi. i actually never done a dry burnout with them, but i always roll them through the water box and burn out! i'll keep running them till they're bold, i hope that they can grip a litter better when bold

330' 6.209 330 5.910
1/8 9.277 @ 81 mph 1/8 8.703@83.95
1/4 14.112 @ 102.76 1/4 13.519@102.84

and i forgot. ill NEVER buy azenis for drag use again!! they do very well on the street and in the turns but imo cant hold a candle to bfg's! lol
u can always go lower than 22 psi.. try 15 to 18 on them and launch from 4500 to 5000g.. nd go around the water box dont get ur tires wet (of which someone has already mentioned)..

I'm shocked, you mean a stiff sidewall tire deisgned for autocross and open track does not stick as well as BFG drag radials in a straight line?
