Happy birthday to Number Nine!
That's right, my Flamenco Black Pearl Type R 00-0009 turns two today. I picked her up on a day much like today - overcast, cool and scattered showers. That's when I learned that RE010's are not fun in the rain
After following the prescribed 1,000 mile break-in period, we've had our ups and downs over the past two years. But I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world
The story
* Found by internet search in late November
* Ordered a FBP Type R that week
* 00-0009 came available when original client held off for yello
* Test-drove 12/11/99 with 12 miles on odometer
* Delivered 12/13/99 with 29 miles (all from test drive)
The stats
* 24,745 miles on the clock
* Lost count of oil changes
* MPG varied from 20.5 to 32.4 mpg
* 1 tranny fluid change
* 3 valve adjustments
* Tires rotated at every oil change
* 1 autocross
* 6 drag strip runs
The mods
(in order of installation)
* AEM CAI (red)
* JDM 4-1 header + 2.5" Jeg's cat
* Apex'i V-AFC
*** Dyno'd at 177whp/128wtq at this point
* Toda first gen cam gears
* Cut OEM valve cover
* Sparco Torino driver's seat (currently out awaiting custom bracket)
* CW Civic Type R rims with Kumho 712 205/50/15
* Toda Spec B cams (yack-tuned)
* Noncut OEM valve cover installed
The bad stuff
(in order of occurance)
* Rock to windshield, replaced with OEM Honda glass
* Break-in, driver's glass replaced, D-side skirt repainted, door handle/pocket replaced
* Drive-by egging, $1800 paint damage (hood, roof, hatch and spoiler)
* Hit-and-run, ~$450 damage to front bumper and hood (never fixed)
* Stolen spoiler, ~$2000 to replace/repaint hatch and spoiler
The warranty stuff
* Front lip replaced (mismolded)
* Wiper arms to be replaced (faded)
The "rice"
* DOHC VTEC LSD sticker
* Deals Gap dragon decals
* R&D stickers
A long and storied history for such a young car.
But the main thing is that she's still around - I haven't been forced to sell her due to finances, and she hasn't been stolen (knock on wood). Driving that car is still the most fun thing I can do with my clothes on... Hope it stays that way

Cheers....Was your windshield wiper arms replaced by warranty? Mine's fading too
I was told two months ago that they could be replaced under warranty. I was supposed to call the body shop to arrange it, but got lazy
Need to follow up on that while I still can...
