Im about to buy a 1998 diamond pearl white Lude and the base side skirts and rear skirt are painted to match the car. I'll ask him when I have the chance. Also looks like the paint is holding up well on it. Also about the material its made of, Im not sure of, but those black base skirts look like like some cheaper plastic material. But I dont know, just guessing.

only sh has the painted sides and rear, so if u have a base model just paint them pearl and make sure its a good paint job.

I painted my base sides and rear lip when I was having body work done on my car. The trim is plastic both on the base and the SH, but the SH trip is smooth and the base trim is more textured, from a distance u can't tell the difference but when one looks up close u can clearly see the little ridges on the base trim.

Painting the trim correctly requires first treating the plastic with special adhesives so that the paint can stick on it and flex rather then chip.

I repainted my shitty fading skirts black. No chipping or cracking yet.
